Jameson Crumpler is a forestry student at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, Oklahoma, Jamison donates his time and skills cutting down hazard trees for Robbers Cave State Park. He says, "It keeps me busy and sharp on the saw. Also, hard work is good for the soul."
In the series of photos below, Jamison is falling a Shortleaf Pine. It was both a power line and roadside hazard. Jameson says, "It had a cat-face on the uphill side, so I used some springboards to get above the rot."
Jameson used a hydraulic jack and backed it up with a wedge to keep the tree from falling on the power line.
The photo below shows just how close this tree was to the power lines.
Jameson says, "The tree laid out where I wanted, in a ditch. No clean up for the State Park guys... and no calls to the power company!"
Jameson adds, "Madsens is one of the best,,, saw shops in the US. I buy the majority of my stuff from ya'll." Thanks for the pics, Jameson.
